For every wrestler apart from their in-ring performance, the theme song plays an iconic role in their career. More popularity of the theme song more famous is the wrestler. However, there are some wrestler with same theme song in different promotion which have now become their trademark.

Sometimes the wrestler’s entrance song had the legal rights to the wrestling companies and sometimes the legal rights belonged to the wrestler himself. If the rights of the wrestler’s theme song are owned by the wrestler himself then he is free to use it in whichever company he is currently performing in.

CM Punk – Cult of Personality

On 17 July 2011 CM Punk on the final night of his contract defeated John Cena at Money in the Bank pay per view. But on 25th July 2011 at Raw, Punk made a shock with his new heavy metallic theme song “Look in my eyes, what do you see, the Cult of Personality”. Since then his entrance song has become very popular. This song remained with Punk’s last appearance in 2014.

Seven long years have passed but CM Punk never appeared in any wrestling promotion. The WWE license to use Cult of Personality got expired. Then AEW secretly purchased the license of the song. And on 20 August 2021 made his AEW debut with the same theme song. Even the crowd started singing the song with CM Punk’s theme music. CM Punk’s return would have been incomplete with the Cult of Personality theme song.

R-Truth – What’s Up

Next on the list of wrestlers with same theme song in different promotions is R-Truth. Being a rapper R-Truth makes albums. He himself sings his theme song during the entrance. He started to use the entrance song which is owned by him since 2002 when he was in TNA. For the audience, it’s like watching a live concert. 

In 2008 when R-Truth returned to WWE he continued using the same theme song What’s up for his entrance. It’s very entertaining to watch R-Truth taking his entrance dancing and rapping. He also gets the crowd’s full support for the chant What’s up.

Ronda Rousey – Bad Reputation

The first-ever American woman to win an Olympic medal in Judo had already made Ronda Rousey a star. She started her career with UFC in 2012. From then she developed a bad girl character and inherited the title Rowdy. Her UFC entrance theme song “Bad Reputation” with lyrics ‘I don’t give a damn ’bout my reputation‘ suits her personality very well.

On 28th January 2018 Rowdy Ronda Rousey made her WWE debut at the Royal Rumble pay-per-view. She not only brought her bad attitude from UFC to WWE but she also brought her theme song with her. Randa’s UFC theme song was so popular for her entrance that WWE also licensed to use it for her entrance in WWE as well

Booker T – Rap Sheet

The king of Spin-A-Roonie made his debut in WCW in 1993 with brother Stevie Ray as the tag team named Harlem heat. Being a tag team they both uses the same theme song  “Rap Sheet by René De Wael and Didier Legalise”  for their entrance.  In 1997 Booker’s brother got out of action due to an ankle injury but continued to wrestle as his single reigned using the same theme song.

After WCW was owned by WWE all the rights were also owned by WWE. Booker T made his debut in WWE in 2001. And during the entrance, he used the same theme song which was used in WCW. It has now been almost thirty year since Booker T is using the same theme song for his entrance.

Ric Flair – Also Sprach Zarathustra

In 1975 Ric Flair joined WCW and his entrance theme song was “Also Sprach Zarathustra”. But in 1991 when Ric switched to WWE his entrance theme song changed to “Early Sprach”. And this theme was not as much appreciated as his previous one. 

In 1993 Ric Flair again returned to WCW and he got back again his “Also Sprach Zarathustra” theme song for his entrance. After 2001 when WWE bought WCW, Ric Flair continued with the same theme song in WWE.

Bryan Danielson – Born For Greatness

Last on the list of wrestlers with same theme song in different promotions is Bryan Danielson. Daniel Bryan debuted in WWE NXT in 2009. In his starting days, he used to make entrance using his mentor The Miz’s theme song. But later as he got separated as a single superstar he got his famous Superman-type theme song “Ride of The Valkyries”. He used this song for his entrance till his departure from WWE. He left WWE after losing to Roman Reigns in a career vs championship match on 30th April 2021 on Smackdown live.

Four months later on 5th September Daniel Bryan debuted AEW with a modified version of his name as Bryan Danielson. He not only came with his modified name but also with his modified version of the previous entrance theme song “Born For Greatness”. It is the beat mix version of “Ride of The Valkyries”.
