Different ways to eliminate in Royal Rumble match
Not showing up before next participant entrance
When a wrestler’s entrance music hits and he fails to show up and after 90 seconds the next wrestler comes, the previous wrestler is automatically eliminated.
In 1991 the buzzer sounded for the number 18 participant. Fans kept waiting but the participant didn’t show up and the match continued. As the next participant, number 19 buzzer sounded and took the entrance the commentator himself announced that, since number 18 didn’t show up before the next participant therefore he has been eliminated.
The number 18 participant was Macho Man Randy Savage. He had already left the arena as he was being chased by an angry wrestler The Ultimate Warrior.
Unable to compete due to injury
Another way on the list of 4 other ways wrestlers can be eliminated from Royal Rumble is to get eliminated due to an injury. When a participant is hurt before or during the match he is eliminated to seek medical attention.
In 2004 when the Big Red Machine Kane was being eliminated he was so frustrated that he delivered all of his frustration on number 13 Spike Dudley, who was making his way towards the ring. Spike Dudley was so badly injured that he was unable to compete in the Royal Rumble match and was eliminated.
Participant himself left the match
In the 2008 Royal Rumble match, Hornswoggle entered at number 9. But he didn’t enter the ring; instead, he hid beneath the ring. Then Mark Henry who entered at number 25 pulled Hornswoggle inside the ring. To save his WWE storyline son, Finlay jumped inside the ring attacked Mark Henry and other wrestlers with his stick and left the ring with his son Hornswoggle
In this way, Hornswoggle himself left the match and eliminated himself without being thrown over the top rope in the Royal Rumble match.
Showing up before the actual entrance
This also happened in the 2008 Royal Rumble match. Finlay, to save his storyline son Hornswoggle appeared inside the ring before his actual entrance. The actual entrance number of Finlay was number 27 but since he had already appeared inside the match and left with hornswoggle he got disqualified and was eliminated from the Royal Rumble match.
