WrestleMania 39, one of the most anticipated events in the WWE calendar. The second night of the event had an unforgettable lineup of matches, each with its own unique moments and highlights. From Brock Lesnar and Omos to the main event between Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes, there was something for everyone. Brock Lesnar vs. Omos

The opening match of the night was between Brock Lesnar and Omos, accompanied by MVP. Lesnar started strong, delivering three German suplexes to Omos. However, Omos managed to escape Lesnar’s finishing move, the F-5. In the end, Lesnar connected with the F-5 to pick up the win, giving the crowd an exciting start to the night.

Women’s WrestleMania Showcase Match

The next match was the Women’s WrestleMania Showcase, featuring Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler, Natalya and Shotzi, Chelsea Green and Sonya Deville, and Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez. Rousey and Baszler emerged victorious, with Rousey submitting Shotzi with the armbar. The match was an incredible display of athleticism and skill from all the participants, showcasing the depth and diversity of women’s wrestling.

Gunther vs. Drew McIntyre vs. Sheamus

The next match featured Gunther defending SmackDown’s Intercontinental Championship against Drew McIntyre and Sheamus. In the closing stages of the match, Sheamus delivered the Brogue Kick to Gunther, but McIntyre pulled Sheamus out of the ring. Drew then delivered the Claymore for a two-count. Sheamus connected again with the Brogue Kick, but Gunther broke it up with a diving splash. Gunther then powerbombed Sheamus onto McIntyre and powerbombed McIntyre to retain the title, displaying his dominance as a champion.

Bianca Belair vs. Asuka

In the next match, Bianca Belair defended the Raw Women’s Championship against Asuka. The match was intense from the start, with both wrestlers delivering impressive moves and counters. In the end, Belair powerbombed Asuka on the outside and rolled her back in the ring for a two-count. Asuka delivered a knee to the face and Belair hit a shoulder tackle. Belair attempted a top-rope Kiss of Death, but Asuka blocked it into a codebreaker. Asuka attempted the Asian Mist, but missed, allowing Belair to hoist her for the Kiss of Death. Asuka countered it into the armbar, but Belair lifted Asuka while still in the hold, and hit the Kiss of Death to win, retaining her title.

Miz vs. Shane, But McMahon Gets Injured

The night started with The Miz and Snoop Dogg announcing the attendance for Night 2 of 81,395 and the combined attendance of both nights of 161,892. Miz then brought up his match with McAfee from the previous night and how he wasn’t ready for it. This brought out Shane McMahon, who hadn’t been seen in WWE since the 2022 Royal Rumble.

McMahon challenged Miz to a match, and Snoop Dogg made it official. However, McMahon would legitimately tear his quadriceps, causing the match to be stopped. In an improvised moment, Snoop Dogg then came into the ring and challenged Miz. He punched him twice and performed a People’s Elbow to win the impromptu match. This made The Miz the first person to lose matches at both nights of WrestleMania.

Edge vs. Bálor : in Hell in a Cell Match

In the penultimate match, Edge battled “The Demon” Finn Bálor in a Hell in a Cell match. The two wrestlers went back and forth, with Edge delivering the Edge-O-Matic and a Michinoku Driver, and Bálor hitting the Coup de Grâce for a two-count.

Bálor attempted an elevated Coup de Grâce from the top of the cage, but Edge moved out of the way, and Bálor crashed through a table. Edge then hit the Spear and delivered a con-chair-to to Bálor to win the match.

Roman Reigns vs. Cody Rhodes

In the main event, Roman Reigns defended his Undisputed WWE Universal Championship against Cody Rhodes. Reigns was accompanied by Paul Heyman and Solo Sikoa.

The match started with both wrestlers sizing each other up, but Rhodes performed a dropkick on Reigns for a one count. While the referee was distracted, Sikoa attacked Rhodes outside the ring, and Reigns covered him for a nearfall.

Rhodes performed a backdrop on Reigns through an announce table and followed up with a Cody Cutter for a nearfall. Sikoa attacked Rhodes with Rhodes’ weight belt, leading to his ejection from ringside.

Rhodes performed Cross Rhodes on Reigns for a nearfall and countered a Superman Punch attempt into a Pedigree for a nearfall. As Rhodes leapt off the top rope, Reigns speared him for a nearfall.

Reigns applied the Guillotine Choke, but Rhodes was able to escape. As Rhodes attempted a DDT, The Usos (Jey Uso and Jimmy Uso) attacked Rhodes, only for Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn to make the save, with the two teams brawling into the crowd.

Rhodes then covered Reigns for another nearfall. In the closing moments, Rhodes performed a Bionic Elbow and followed up with two more Cross Rhodes. Heyman distracted the referee, allowing Sikoa to perform the Samoan Spike on Rhodes.

Reigns finished the match with another Spear on Rhodes, retaining his titles and marking the seventh time a heel won the main event of WrestleMania.
